Mike Adams
Health Ranger: Banned From Every Major Platform
Mike Adams, who brands himself the "Health Ranger," operates Natural News, a health and alternative media website he has run for nearly two decades. The site publishes content about alternative medicine, food safety, vaccine skepticism, and political conspiracy theories, and has attracted a large readership. Adams has been permanently banned from YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram for violations of those platforms' policies related to health misinformation, and has also created his own alternative platforms, including the video hosting site Brighteon.
Natural News published extensive content during the COVID-19 pandemic promoting treatments including colloidal silver, chlorine dioxide, and various supplements, characterizing them as alternatives to mainstream medical advice. Public health agencies and medical organizations characterized these claims as dangerous misinformation. Adams contested those characterizations and argued that his coverage represented legitimate questions about pharmaceutical industry influence and government overreach. He maintained that natural health approaches deserved fair coverage and that mainstream media systematically ignored evidence against approved treatments.
Adams has built a distributed media infrastructure including the Natural News flagship site, satellite websites, and Brighteon, which he positioned as an alternative to YouTube for content removed from that platform. Public health researchers and platform trust and safety teams have characterized this network as a mechanism for distributing health misinformation at scale. Adams characterized it as a free speech alternative to platforms he described as engaging in politically motivated censorship.
Adams's supporters regard Natural News as one of the few media outlets willing to cover health topics that the mainstream medical and pharmaceutical establishment prefers to suppress. His critics, including major public health organizations, maintain that his content promotes false claims about vaccines and treatments that have contributed to real harm. The Natural News website continues to operate and attract substantial traffic as of 2025.
