FaZe Kay
FaZe Clan Gaming Creator Removed Over Token Scandal

Nikan Nadim, known as FaZe Kay, was a prominent member of FaZe Clan, a gaming and entertainment organization with a large following among younger audiences. In June and July 2021, Kay was among the FaZe Clan members who promoted the Save the Kids cryptocurrency token. The token was framed in its marketing as a charitable project that would direct a portion of proceeds to organizations supporting children, a framing that the investigators who subsequently examined the scheme described as designed to reduce skepticism from fans.
Content creator Coffeezilla published a detailed on-chain analysis of the token's transaction history, showing that insiders — including the promoting influencers — had sold their token holdings within hours of launch, while retail buyers were still purchasing based on active promotional campaigns. The analysis also indicated that anti-dump protections that had been marketed as safeguards for investors had been modified or removed before the launch, meaning that while retail buyers faced friction that limited their ability to sell quickly, insiders did not. The combination of charitable framing, insider selling, and removal of promised protections is what investigators characterized as a classic pump-and-dump scheme.
FaZe Clan removed Kay from the organization in July 2021 as a direct consequence of the scandal — a significant institutional consequence given that FaZe membership had been central to his content identity and brand. Kay apologized publicly. He was the most senior FaZe member to face organizational consequences from the incident and received more significant consequences than others involved.
Kay has since continued creating content independently. His case became one of the most widely cited examples in gaming media of influencer-driven cryptocurrency fraud targeting young audiences.
